"WELCOME TO WAITING FOR THE BAD THING TO HAPPEN! – humanity’s last self-help Gala, where we will now wait and prepare ourselves to face the end of the world in the most meaningful and (of course) in the most BANGING way possible!

According to our calculations the end is going to happen already within the next 20 minutes, so we better get started!"

Inspired by the contemporary depictions of "the end of the world", WAITING FOR THE BAD THING TO HAPPEN explores with humour and equilibristic choreography the things we could find meaningful or worth a while staging and sharing when facing our own mortality - and our desire to go out with a bang!

The show premiered in collaboration with Bornholms Kulturuge in September 2023.

Supported by the Danish Arts Council, the Nordic Culture Fund, Nordic Culture Point, Knud Højgaard’s Fund and Augustinus Fonden.

Follow THE YOUTUBER first via the EPIC vlog, and meet the dancers live on stage where a TRUE horror mystery unravels!

In June 2022 a crew of six dancers entered a remote location surrounded by the Finnish woods. Their goal was to explore what it means to be a YouTuber and vlog about their experience. However, the experiment went horribly wrong.

Now the same dancers meet on stage, where they with the help of their audience aim to unravel the horror mystery of what really happened in Finland and (of course) to create GREAT content.

However, it seems the line between the staged and the real is not clear - even to themselves..

The Finnish choreographer and dancer, NOORA HANNULA, has created an absurd and gripping online and live dance performance, which plays with the perceived reality on social media and explores what it takes to live the dream of every third 12–17-year-old: being a Youtuber.

THE YOUTUBER is aimed for young adults from 13 and up and is co-produced by Dansehallerne. The show invites its audiences to enjoy the opportunist high pulse action as well as to stare down at their own fascination with social media, as they enter a world where reality is content.

Supported by the Danish Arts Council, the Nordic Culture Fund, Nordic Culture Point, Knud Højgaard’s Fund and Augustinus Fonden.

The performance contains a couple of curse words and fake blood.
